What happens on the walks?

It’s up to you and your dog!  One of the benefits of individual walks is the great amount of flexibility they offer. For high-energy dogs, we will walk, jog and spend some time playing games and learning tricks to tire out the mind as well as the body.  We’ll visit off-leash areas or even play games in your back yard.   Or, if your dog just wants to stroll and smell the flowers, we will go at his pace.  No matter what, we try to vary our routes so there are always new things to see and sniff.

Do you walk dogs off-leash?

Only with your permission, and only in a secure, designated off-leash area.  If your dog does not have a reliable recall, we can still take them to a green space to play games and explore on the long line.

What do you do in case of inclement weather?

In case of extreme heat, cold or heavy downpour, we will monitor your dog for signs of discomfort and shorten the walk if necessary.  In case we are not able to spend a full hour outside, we will spend the remainder of the scheduled time playing indoors, or make up the time on a future walk.

How will I know that my dog has been walked?  Do you provide updates?

Yes!  We post daily pictures of your furry friend’s adventures on our Facebook page, and we can also send updates directly to your phone or email.

Will my dog always have the same walker?

Yes, with the very rare exception.  I, Nina Wodzinska, am the sole walker.  If I am ever unable to walk your dog, I will do my best to ensure that your dog is placed with another bonded and insured, trusted professional.

What if I need to cancel a walk?

We do not charge for walks cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled time of the walk.

Can you walk my dog on evenings, weekends or holidays?

Our regular walking hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.  An extra $5 charge applies to any services scheduled outside these hours.  At this time, we can provide occasional evening or weekend walks to regular clients, but availability may vary so please call well in advance.  Also, please note that regular walks are suspended on the following days:

  • New Years Day
  • Family Day
  • Easter
  • Victoria Day
  • Canada Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?

We are pet first-aid certified and always carry a first-aid kit to treat minor cuts, bumps and stings.   Should your dog need more serious medical attention while in our care, we will endeavor to take your dog to their regular veterinarian.  In case of a life-threatening emergency, however, we will take them to the closest available vet.  We will always contact you should the need for veterinary care arise.  If we are not able to reach you, we will try to act in the best interest of your dog when making decisions regarding their care.

I live just outside of your service area.  Can you still walk my dog?

There's a good chance we can!  Please get in touch with us to discuss your needs.
